Kim has operated Kim’s Upholstery Shop & Custom Slipcovers since 1999. Although most of her business is residential and commercial upholstery, she started out sewing slipcovers and other soft furnishings. Her slipcover designs are featured as 1st place winners in Carrscorner annual photo calendar contests. Customers drive from as far as Chicago, and even further by way of the internet. At present she is negotiating 75 slipcovers for a hotel lounge in Pennsylvania.

Her training has come from many sources; books, workshops, professional internet forums, and working with peers. Kim has taught at the Slipcover Summit in Indianapolis, and will be teaching again at the same event in Seattle. She also holds weekend project classes at her shop in W. Lafayette, Indiana.
